Study of a Pheasant

I see these crazy creatures all the time on my walks around the Cotswolds and so it was a wonderful challenged to try and capture one in oil.  This 8 X 10 original oil painting is part of my exclusive 2026 calendar. The vibrant and intricate colours of the pheasant's plumage were a good challenge for me as a painter to capture. As a local artist specializing in animal portraits with a passion for painting horses, I meticulously craft each piece with the utmost care and detail.
